Today, amidst a backdrop of anticipation and hope, President Museveni witnessed the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed ministers, each poised to undertake their responsibilities with diligence and dedication. Among the distinguished appointees were Hon. Lillian Aber, entrusted with the State for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Hon. Kenneth Omona, assuming the mantle of State for Northern Uganda, Hon. Florence Wamala Nambozo, tasked with overseeing Karamoja Affairs, Hon. Phiona Nyamutooro, appointed as State for Energy and Mineral Development, Gen. Wilson Mbasu Mbadi, designated as State for Trade, and Hon. Balaam Barugahara, assuming the State for Youth and Children.

In a solemn yet optimistic address, President Museveni underscored the critical role these ministers play in shaping Uganda's future. Emphasizing the urgent need to combat corruption, President Museveni articulated, "Corruption is a disruptor since it undermines a lot of efforts, but if they focus on these two things - fighting it and teaching the masses to create wealth, 80 percent of the work will be done."

His words resonated with a sense of urgency and determination, highlighting the pivotal juncture at which Uganda finds itself. Corruption, a scourge that has hindered progress and stunted development, must be confronted head-on. President Museveni's call for a dual approach—combating corruption while empowering the populace to generate wealth—reflects a comprehensive strategy aimed at fostering sustainable growth and prosperity.

As these newly appointed ministers embark on their respective mandates, they carry with them not only the weight of responsibility but also the promise of positive change. Their success hinges not only on their individual efforts but also on their collective commitment to upholding integrity, transparency, and accountability.

President Museveni concluded his address by extending his best wishes to the incoming ministers, expressing confidence in their ability to rise to the occasion. "I wish them
good luck," he remarked, a sentiment that encapsulates the hopes of a nation eager for progress and prosperity under their stewardship.
