Alejandro Garnacho found himself at the center of controversy

In a recent development at Manchester United, winger Alejandro Garnacho found himself at the center of controversy after he liked social media posts criticizing manager Erik ten Hag's handling of him. Following his substitution at half-time during United's 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, Garnacho endorsed two messages on X, posted by United fan and YouTuber Mark Goldbridge.

One of the posts accused Ten Hag of unfairly "throwing Garnacho under the bus" due to comments made by the manager regarding the player's performance. The other post criticized the decision to substitute Garnacho at half-time, labeling it as unjust and highlighting the player as a scapegoat for the team's problems.

However, Garnacho quickly "unliked" both messages, indicating a sense of regret and contrition. According to sources within the club, the matter has been addressed internally.

Despite this incident, Garnacho has been a pivotal figure for United this season, contributing nine goals and four assists in 42 appearances. This incident is not the first time tensions have arisen between players and the manager, as evidenced by Jadon Sancho's comments in September regarding being made a "scapegoat" for his omission from the squad.

The draw against Bournemouth has added to the pressure on Ten Hag, with United currently sitting seventh in the Premier League table, 13 points adrift of the top four. As the FA Cup remains the only opportunity for silverware this season, United will face second-tier side Coventry in the semi-final at Wembley on Sunday.
